Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. She was moved to Oxfordshire in the year she turned five years old and attended at the Dragon School. Emma chose to be an actor by the age of six. Through the years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing dance, acting and singing. Through a school play as well as the stage of a Stagecoach Production, Emma took as the lead role at age 10, and acted. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) was the movie version of J.K. Rowlings bestselling novel was first cast for the first time at the beginning of 1999. Emma was discovered by agent through the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been selected for the parts. The cast included Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film on the screen came in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, released in 2001. It set records in terms of the opening weekend and revenues, and was the highest-grossing film of 2001. The film was praised by reviewers, and so were the performance of three starlets. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed and widely read, praised her performance as admirable. Emma later won five awards in recognition of her work in the film.
