Ana Gonzales bio

Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson, a musician's daughter from Mexico, was born to an adored family of musicians. Growing up she was influenced by classical music, boleros and the traditional romantic, ranchero, as well as romance ballads. Ana is a lover of tangos, opera, and any form of dramatic performance. She was taught by her mother to sing, however she started intensive vocal training by Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera tenor. The musical training continued with the School of Music of the University of Guadalajara, and afterwards to the School of Sacred Music in Toluca, Mexico. The singer performed throughout Guadalajara, Mexico City and other cities as a young student and professional. Following her move into California in United States in 2000, she joined the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before making the move to her current place in southern California. She sings with Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo in a variety of private occasions. Alongside being an instructor and performer in the local area, her love of music and art keeps her involved in a range of different projects. Ana is also a former member of the Community Chorus of Redlands. The Inland Master Chorale. and the Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able share with others her passion for the tradition of Latin American music. She hopes to inspire younger generations to keep the tradition alive.
